Tokyo Marathon Friendship Run (Fun Run 5km)
The Tokyo Marathon Friendship Run (Fun Run 5km) is a group-organized 5 km fun run held as part of Tokyo Marathon Weekend under the theme “The Day We Unite,” welcoming overseas runners and encouraging交流 between domestic and international participants. It takes place on Saturday, February 28, 2026, starting from the Taito River Side Sports Center Athletics Field in Tokyo. The event is hosted by the Tokyo Marathon Foundation, with KINTETSU INTERNATIONAL as presenting partner and the Asakusa Shops Federation as community partner, and includes on-course cheering support. Optional Asakusa cultural experiences are available for some activities by advance application.
*Eligibility*
Participants must be at least 12 years old on race day. Must be able to complete 5 km within 30 minutes.
Runners under 18 must have parental/legal guardian consent.
