New York is marathon-weekend.com's biggest race week yet

New York passed Berlin and Chicago on events, people and visits to organisers. Medal Monday drew the most people, and five of the ten most popular events were medal engraving.

  • 341 events from 286 brands and clubs, about twice Berlin's and Chicago's
  • 28,415 people on the New York guide, by Google Analytics
  • 7,013 people on Medal Monday, the most of any day, by our own site analytics

Berlin, Germany: marathon-weekend.com today published its numbers for New York City Marathon race week, its biggest race week yet.¹ The site listed 341 events from 286 brands and clubs. Between October 19 and November 2, 2026, Google Analytics counted 28,415 people on the New York guide,² and the site sent 19,076 visits to event organisers.³ Medal Monday, November 2, the day after the race, drew the most people. The race itself, the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon on Sunday, November 1, marked 50 years of the five-borough course. New York Road Runners counted 61,146 finishers on race day.⁴

Counted on the same definitions as Berlin and Chicago 2026,⁵ New York listed about twice their events, and its guide drew 1.3 to 2 times their people. Five of the week's ten most popular events were medal engraving, and Nike, Tracksmith, New Balance, lululemon and Bandit were the brands whose events drew the most people.

"Race week keeps going after the finish line. On the Monday after New York, more people came to our New York guide than on any other day of race week, and two in three of those looking at events were looking at medal engraving," said Michel Tucker, founder of marathon-weekend.com.

The Most Sought-After Brands

Nike's events drew the most people of any brand, ahead of Tracksmith's.⁶ New Balance, lululemon and Bandit completed the top five.

Where to Find It

How the Numbers Were Counted

The numbers come from our own site analytics, Google Analytics, Google Search Console and our event listings. Traffic covers October 19 to November 2, 2026, and the event counts cover every event listed for the race week. Bots, automated traffic and our own team are removed from our own analytics counts. Berlin and Chicago are counted the same way over their own race weeks, except Berlin's traffic to organisers (note 5).

Notes

  1. Biggest by events listed, against every edition on the site: 341 events, against 180 for New York 2025, the next largest.
  2. People on the New York guide are Google Analytics users over the window, the one people count all three cities share. Our own analytics counted 33,921 people. Google Analytics counts fewer, since blockers and cookie refusals hide some people from it. Its figures for November 2 were still provisional when pulled on November 4, so the people count and the number of countries can shift slightly.
  3. Traffic to organisers counts visits from an event's link out to its organiser. 8,189 people went through, and a person can go through more than once.
  4. Race facts from New York Road Runners' own pages, read November 4, 2026: the finisher-count release of November 2 and the story on 50 years of the five-borough course. NYRR's finisher count is as of November 1 and subject to change after final scoring.
  5. Berlin's traffic to organisers includes automated traffic and our own team, which the Chicago and New York counts leave out, so Berlin's figure reads high.
  6. Brands are ranked on the people who viewed their events, plus the people who went through to an organiser and Google searches that named the brand and reached the site.
  7. Events are ranked on the people who viewed each one, plus those who went through to its organiser.
  8. Page views and event page views come from our own analytics, with automated traffic and our own team left out. Destinations count each visit by the site the event links to. 37 visits went to events that no longer carry a link and 36 to marathon-weekend.com itself, and neither is in any share. Shares are rounded.
  9. Daily visitors, hourly viewers and the Medal Monday shares come from our own site analytics.
