Columbia: Crystal Curious, Hike x Gems

A full-day 12km hike goes beyond the classic Mer de Glace trails, climbing 610 metres through the mineral landscape above Chamonix. Crystal hunter Paul Besson leads it and explains how Alpine gems form, how they are found and what ties crystal hunters to the Mont Blanc massif. Mountaineering boots, crampons, poles, a helmet and a harness are required, with rental gear arranged for anyone who needs it.
