NYC Marathon Week 2026: shakeout runs, pop-ups and cheer zones
On 20 October, when we sent the New York edition of The Extra Mile, our calendar for NYC marathon week had 156 events. By Saturday 24 October it had 271. The race takes one day, Sunday 1 November. The week around it takes eleven, from Saturday 24 October to Tuesday 3 November.

83 of the 271 events belong to a pop-up or a brand house. Many of the shops cluster downtown, in SoHo, Tribeca and the Lower East Side. rabbit is back at the Walker Hotel for a second year, with six events of its own. Tracksmith is at The Brooklyn Circus on Canal Street and Brooks has a house on Lafayette Street. Miler and Rec Room sit a few blocks apart on Broome and Grand. All five run their own shakeouts or group runs. rabbit shuts its doors on race day to cheer at Mile 18.7. Bandit, on Broome Street last year, announces its 2026 pop-up on Monday 26 October, for the same Thursday to Monday.
The week opened on Saturday 24, when Tracksmith joined the city's crews for The Last 10, the traditional final 10-miler, which finished at the marathon finish line. Fleet Feet and ASICS ran Taper Town 10 from the Upper East Side the same morning. Center for Beginners is open on Eldridge Street from Sunday 25 until race day.
